Man Arrested in Connection With Woman's Body Found Under Bridge
Jaime Prieto Rocha, 40, of Santa Ana was arrested Friday in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Nancy Hammour.
A man was arrested Friday in connection with the murder of woman found dead on Labor Day under the Bay Bridge in Newport Beach, a police official announced today.
Jaime Prieto Rocha, 40, of Santa Ana was taken into custody by Newport Beach police about 7:40 p.m. for the murder of Nancy Hammour, according to police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella.
Hammour, 28, also of Santa Ana, was found lying face down about 8:45 a.m. on Labor Day under the Bay Bridge near the intersection of East Coast Highway and Bayside Drive, police reported. Officials said Hammour died from a gunshot wound.
Rocha was booked into the Orange County jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
Manzella would not release the relationship between Rocha and Hammour and could not reveal where Rocha was arrested.
The investigation was continuing.
