Hometown St. Clair Shores
Birthday July 28
Bio
I am life-long St. Clair Shores resident who is excited to be covering our city as your Patch editor. I am a product of South Lake Schools who ran cross country, played on the first boy's soccer team and wrote for the school paper.
I graduated in 1991 and then attended Grand Valley State University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations in 1995.
Prior to coming to Patch, I worked for 13 years as a reporter with The Detroit News covering local, regional and national stories. My interest in politics and working for the greater good lead me to work as press secretary for Congresswoman Candice Miller and most recently as press secretary for Detroit Mayor Dave Bing.
Now I have returned to my roots to cover St. Clair Shores. I look forward to seeing you around town as I enjoy the many unique stores, activities and parks in our community with my family and friends.
Your Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.
Politics
You will see me at the polls on every election day voting for the best candidates.
Religion
I will see you in church on Sundays.
Local Hot-Button Issues
I believe the financial challenges facing St. Clair Shores are one of the most pressing issues in the community. Living on the water, environmental issues are also very important to residents and visitors to St. Clair Shores.
