The family owned Galley Cafe has been feeding Newport Beach residents since 1957. This cozy, inviting cafe, tucked away at the back of Harbor Island Drive has been a destination for boaters before or after a day of seafaring.

Little here has changed in over 50 years of business, and that's the way they like it. Coke and root beer orders consist of soda water with a few pumps of syrup stirred in, and the milkshakes here are thick with real ice cream.

Classic diner fare includes breakfast staples like hash browns and eggs. For lunch, the chili is a must. Be sure to bring cash and watch for the ghost of John Wayne, who used to frequent the Galley.
