Road Closures, Surfing Meeting, Haunted House

Events taking place today and this week in Newport Beach.

1. Today from 3-4 p.m., a Lego Block Party will be held at the Mariners Branch of the Newport Beach Public Library, 1300 Irvine Ave. The Lego party is for all ages and will include designing, building and inventing with LEGOs.

2. A section of northbound MacArthur Boulevard between Pacific Coast Highway and San Miguel Drive will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning today through Nov. 1. Get more details in our story here.

3. The city of Newport Beach's Blackball Working Group, created to review surfing regulations for city beaches, will meet today to discuss looking at all parts of the regulations, including specific areas, dates and times. The Working Group meeting will be held at 6 p.m., in the Community Room of the Newport Beach Civic Center, 100 Civic Center Dr.

4. The Newport Beach City Council will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. Read the full agenda here.

5. On Saturday, Oct. 26 the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Halloween Costume Ride and Haunted House Tour from 10 a.m. to noon.  The event will be held at the Newport Beach Civic Center.
