Free Gift Cards, Health Screenings and Thunderstorms

1. 2. Today from 9 a.m. to noon Marilyn Geller, a registered elder care nurse, is hosting a free community health assessment program at the OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar. Geller will provide free health screenings and help identify local resources. OASIS is located at 801 Narcissus Ave. in CDM.

3. Tenants and landlords are invited to a free Fair Housing Walk-In Clinic on Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. at Newport Beach City Hall in the Corona del Mar Meeting Room Bay 1E, 100 Civic Center Dr. A housing counselor will be available to discuss rental housing issues, tenant/landlord disputes and questions about Fair Housing Laws. The Orange County Sheriff's Department will he holding an Emerging Drug Trends presentation on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.The presentation will include information on new drugs found in schools and social networking risks. Five meetings will be held around Orange County including at Foothill High School in Santa Ana, the San Juan Capistrano Unified School District and the Laguna Hills Community Center. 5. Today will be partly cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The coast will see highs around 79, inland areas will be 87-92, according to the National Weather Service.
