Cyber Monday, Bike Committee Meeting, Breakfast With Santa

Events taking place today and this week in Newport Beach.

1. Today is Cyber Monday and Patch wishes you luck with your online shopping. By some estimates, we’ll collectively spend $1.8 billion today. Remember to protect your security with strong passwords and be careful what you click on. The Center for Internet Security offers more security tips.
 
2. Today at 5 p.m., the Bicycle Master Plan Oversight Committee meets at the Newport Beach Civic Center's Community Room, 100 Civic Center Dr. Read the meeting's agenda here.

3. On Friday at 9:30 a.m., Breakfast With Santa will be held at the Newport Coast Community Center. Kids ages 2 + are invited. Breakfast is $15. For more information, call the city's Recreation and Senior Services Department at 949-644-3151.

4. Don't forget! On Friday at noon the city will test its emergency siren system. The sirens will go off for a brief period of time at a reduced sound level. When activated for actual emergency notifications, the sirens will sound for an extended time at a much higher sound level.

5. On Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Corona del Mar Branch Library will host the CdM Holiday Walk. The community is invited to stop by the library for holiday refreshments, crafts and magic.
