Bike Safety, a Pumpkin Workshop and Leaving Memories

Events taking place today and this week in Newport Beach.

1. The Bicycle Master Plan Oversight Committee meets today at 5 p.m. at the Newport Beach Civic Center, 100 Civic Center Dr. The agenda includes a discussion of upcoming neighborhood bike rides, an update on the Bicycle Master Plan project and a report from the police department about recent bicycle accidents, injuries and statistics.

2. Today from 1-2 p.m., the OASIS Senior Center in Corona del Mar will present a workshop on teaching people how to leave a legacy. The free session will show a variety of ways to leave a legacy for your loved ones. The event will be held in Room 5, 801 Narcissus Ave. in Corona del Mar. To RSVP call 949-644-3244.

3. The Newport Beach City Council will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center, 100 Civic Center Dr. Get the full agenda here.

4. On Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., Speak Up Newport is hosting a meeting entitled, "Let's Talk Trash." Council members Leslie Daigle and Tony Petros will speak on the trash issue, as well as a presentation from SUN board member Tom Edwards. The meeting will take place at the Newport Beach Civic Center, 100 Civic Center Dr.

5. On Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., a Succulent Topped Pumpkin Workshop will be held at Roger's Gardens. Succulent designer Laura Eubanks will show how to create art with succulent cuttings and glue. Eubanks will teach how to assemble succulent topped pumpkin centerpieces.
