How's This for Fusion Food: Chile Relleno Pretzel Burger?
That's the top vendor food item at the Orange County Fair following a contest in which 70 entrants competed. And it's not even deep-fried!
County fairs across the country may be known for deep-frying everything from Snickers bars to butter to beer, but in Orange County, it's fusion food that's tops.
Grantburgers’ new Chile Relleno Pretzel Burger made it through four rounds of judging to be the top food item in the annual contest held July 18, according to an Orange County Fair press release.
Fair vendors submitted 70 entries, which were judged on creativity and originality.
Here's how they describe the winner: "Grantburgers' Chile Relleno Pretzel Burger is a towering sandwich with a spicy chorizo patty, jalapeno jam, avocado, tomato, cheese, and a whole chile relleno in a soft pretzel bun."
