Local Artists Featured at Sherman Gardens

Sherman Gardens displays paintings of gardens from the recent 15th annual Spring Garden Tour.

Ever wonder what lies beyond the garden gates of your neighbor's yard? Maybe someone’s climbing rose pokes it’s beautiful blossoms over the edge of the garden wall or a rare tree aloe reaches to the sky tempting you for a closer look. There is no need to keep wondering because every year Sherman Gardens offers a look into some of the fascinating and most exclusive private gardens in the Newport Beach area.

On May 3 Sherman Garden’s volunteers held the 15th Annual Spring Garden Tour. The fundraiser included tours of seven private gardens; featuring a magical rose garden, an impressive cut flower and vegetable garden in Shady Canyon and an creative use of textures in a outdoor retreat near Back Bay. Musicians added to the ambiance of various gardens while others had artists painting scenes throughout the day. Sherman Gardens also showed the collection of California Impressionist paintings in the library and raffled off tons of great prizes in the afternoon.

If you missed it don't fret!  You still have a chance to attend the gallery show and sale through May 23rd at Sherman Gardens. This art show features the pieces which were created during the Spring Garden Tour. The proceeds from sales will be shared between the artists and Sherman Gardens. Whether you’re an avid gardener or a patron of fine art, you’re sure to enjoy the Spring Garden Tour Art Show.
