Wednesday Surf Report

More fun-size combo action.

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report.  Well, we're looking at more fun-size combo action.  Yep, there are plenty of playful size waves in this neck of the woods, so go grab a session at some point during the day.

The conditions are starting off nice and clean this morning and I'd have to say that we probably won't be seeing any southerly winds.  As far as the surf goes, we've got the continued mixture swells in the water.  There's some decent northwest swell and some south-southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is offering some fast and pretty broken-up lines, with lots of good shoulders to pick off.  Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to chest-high, with the top combo breaks pulling an occasional plus set.

Taking a look at the tides: At 10:54 later this morning it drops to a 1.0 low which will have some spots lacking water mid to late morning.  The tide then pushes back up to a 4.5 high at 5:50 this evening.

If you're going to grab a session, a 3/2 fullsuit is plenty, with the water temperature averaging between 59 and 61 degrees.  See ya in the water!
