Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's definitely worth grabbin' a surf at some point during the day. We're seeing a fun size dose of energy out there!
The conditions are starting off pretty clean and glassy, with a mix of mostly decent west-northwest swell and a little south-southwesterly energy underneath it.
That recipe is providing some kind of crumbly broken-up lines, with a few fast sections. Most spots in Newport Beach are running about knee- to chest-high, with the standout breaks pulling a couple plus sets.

At 7:45 this morning the tide pushes up to a 4.7 high which will have things starting off fairly slow early to mid-morning. So, if you can wait for that tide to drop a bit, but get it before it eventually drains out to a 0.1 low at 2:12 this afternoon.
If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
