Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, it's looking like a good day to head up to the slopes instead of trying to grab a surf. Yep, those conditions are looking pretty messy out there.
We're seeing plenty of lump and bump or chop on the water, with a combination of mostly modest south southwest windswell and some leftover west northwest energy.
That's giving us some disorganized crumbly lines with not much to offer. Most Newport Beach spots are seeing waist - to chest - high waves with the top south facing breaks pulling shoulder to head high waves with some sets going a couple feet overhead.

At 8:58 a.m the tide pushes up to a 6.6 high and then drains out to a negative 1.2 low at 4:18 p.m. If you must get wet, throw on that 4/3 fullsuit and the booties with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees.
FYI...if you're planning on paddling, the water quality is very poor due to all the runoff from the rain, so stay at least a few hundred yards away from any storm drains or river mouths.
