Wave Check: Tuesday

It's marginal at best!

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, this latest spring storm isn't offering us much in the way of waves or helping out with our conditions.  Yep, it's looking like one of those days where it's probably going to get worse sooner than later!

We're starting off with some texture, bump or even light chop on it early on.  As far as the surf goes, we've got mainly pretty small northwest windswell and barely any south southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is making for some crumbly racy lines, with a few workable ones.  Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing knee-to waist-high waves, with the standout combo breaks pulling an occasional bigger one.

Taking a look at the tides, at 10:21 a.m it pushes up to a 4.1 high which will have some spots a little full and soft mid-morning.  The tide then drops to a 1.6 low at 3:22 p.m.

If you're really in need of a salt water bath, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 59 and 61 degrees.  Good luck out there.

FYI...County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the likelihood of increased bacterial levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
