Wave Check: Tuesday

There's a pretty good amount of action, but it's a bit disorganized.

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, all the wind we had over the last day or so definitely left us with some surf.  The only bummer it's a bit disorganized.

We're seeing some leftover lump and bump on the surface just about everywhere.  There's a mixture of mainly holding northwest wind and groundswell in the water.

That recipe is giving us some racy rights, with a few fun against the grain lefts to be had.  Lookout for the current to be kind of strong at some spots!

Most spots in Newport Beach are running about waist-to shoulder-high, with those focal points pulling head-high waves, with a few larger sets.

Taking a look at those tides.  At 5:54 a.m it drained out to a 0.7 low which will have many breaks desperate for water early on.  The tide then pushes back up to a 3.6 high at 10:52 a.m and then drops once again to a 1.3 low at 4:26 p.m.

If you're going to get wet, definitely throw on that thicker fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 55 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!

FYI, The County Health Department urges surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours due to increased bacteria levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
