Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, it looks like we've got a little window to grab a session before the next storm. Those conditions have really cleaned up, with a good amount of action!
We're seeing a fairly clean surface early on, with a mix of some west northwest swell, some northwest windswell and minor south southwest energy in the water.
That's offering some racy sectiony lines, that are a bit crumbly, but should steepen once that tide drains out later this morning. Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing waist-to shoulder-high waves, with the top breaks pulling head-high sets.

At 7:59 a.m the tide climbs up to a 6.4 high which will have many breaks pretty swamped throughout the morning. The tide then drains out to a negative 1.3 low at 2:47 p.m.
If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI, remember the County Health Department says surfers and swimmers should stay out of the water after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near storm drains and river mouths.
