Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, the cranking surf we had a few days ago has definitely decreased, but we're seeing much more shape out there today, thanks to the combination of energy.
The conditions are looking fairly clean, with some spots seeing some texture or it, but don't be surprised if those southerly winds pick up at some point during the morning hours. As far as the surf goes, we've got a mixture of energy in the water.
There's mainly decent leftover south swell and some new smaller northwest windswell which is helping in the shape department. That recipe is making for racy sectiony lines, with some good steep corners to pick off. Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing waist-to chest-high waves, with the focal points pulling shoulder-high waves, with possibly a couple plus sets.

At 9:08 a.m the tide drops to a 0.3 low which will have many spots needing water and a bit inconsistent mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 4.0 high at 4:21 p.m.
If you're going to grab a session, do yourself a favor and throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature hanging on the cool side and hanging between 57 and 59 degrees. See ya in the water!
