Good Tuesday morning, surfers. I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, it looks like we've got a decent dose of energy out there today. Overall, most of this stretch of coastline is hanging in the playful size range, with the south facing spots your best bet.
It's mostly clean and glassy from the start, with a mixture of energy in the water. There's mainly a south-southwest swell and a little northwest wind and groundswell in the background.
That recipe is providing some fast sectiony lines, with plenty of fun workable shoulders. Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to chest-high, with the top south facing breaks pulling some shoulder high sets.

Taking a look at the tides: At 5:01 a.m., they dropped to a 0.0 low, which will have some spots in need of some water early to mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 3.7 high at 11:13 a.m. before dropping once again to a 1.5 low at 4:27 p.m.
If you're going to get wet, well, water temperature has climbed quite a bit, so you'll need no more than a 3/2 full, with it averaging between 62 and 63 degrees. See ya in the water!
