Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, there could be a decent window at some point during the day, but the back to back storms could be a bit of a problem causing the conditions take a turn for the worse at anytime.
It's fairly clean from the start, with a mix of some new energy filling-in. We've got some building west-northwest swell and some smaller south-southwesterly energy in the water.
That recipe is making for some pretty broken-up lines, with some fun bowly shoulders to pick off. Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing waist- to chest-high waves, with the standout combo breaks pulling shoulder-high waves, with some larger sets.

At 8:11 this morning the tide drains out to a negative o.1 low which will have many spots in need of water mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.1 high at 2:48 this afternoon.
If you're planning on paddling, break out no less than a 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI: The County Health Department urges surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the likelihood of increased bacteria levels especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
