OLYMPICS 2012: Watch Newport Athletes on TV, Online

With hundreds of events, finding who is on when is tough — but here are the dates for Newport Beach Olympians.

The 2012 London Olympics are under way. But there are so many events, that finding the ones you want to watch can be tough.

NBC and its networks announced it will show every event, so no matter who you are rooting for you should be able to find his or her competition. Some will be streamed live on the NBC Olympics website’s Live Extra.

The opening ceremonies for the 2012 London Olympics are tonight, but the competition began Wednesday including the U.S. women’s soccer team’s game with a win against France. Here's the local athletes from Newport Beach who are hoping to bring home the gold.

  • Samuel Mikulak, 19, of Newport Beach is competing on the men's gymnastics team. He graduated from Corona del Mar High School. Watch Mikulak during qualifications on Saturday, July 28 and on the team final on Monday, July 30. The events will be shown on KNBC, Channel 4. Get the schedule here.

  • Esther Lofgren, 27, of Newport Beach is on the women's Eight rowing team. She graduated from Newport Harbor High School. Watch Lofgren on Sunday, July 29 on KNBC, Channel 4. Get the schedule here.
  • John Mann, 27, of Newport Beach is a center on the men's water polo team. He attended Corona del Mar High School and will compete on Sunday, July 29 on KNBC, Channel 4. Get the schedule here.
