Newport Beach Surf Championships This Weekend
Open to recreational amateur surfers of all ages, registration is Thursday for competition that will take place Friday and Saturday in West Newport Beach.
Recreational amateur surfers of all ages are invited to compete in the 23rd annual City of Newport Beach Surf Championships, Saturday and Sunday at either 54th or 56th street, depending on where the waves are the best each day.
Categories include elementary school (age 11 and younger), middle school (12-14), high school (15-18), men's open (19-plus), masters (30-plus), legends (40-plus) and women's open (all ages).
Registration is $30 for city residents ($5 more for non-residents) and includes an event T-shirt. Deadline is Thursday and registration forms can be found here.
