Little League District 55 has reinstated play for about 700 boys and girls in Newport Beach's local league after first suspending the league for having too many coaches on its board.
A message at the Newport Beach Little League website says it all: "Play Ball!!!" (Yes, three exclamation points.) Practices resume today.
Board member Gregg Olson told KABC 7 the suspension was lifted Sunday night after the league had a meeting with an administrator from District 55. A board member was forced to step down.
