Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, there's a fair amount of action, but those conditions aren't starting off the way we like! Yep, there's already a pretty steady west southwest wind which is putting some bump or chop on the water.
As far as the surf goes...there's a decent dose of energy in the water. We're seeing mostly west-northwest and northwest windswell and some very minor remnant south-southwest energy.
That recipe is making for some kind of disorganized and semi-wally lines, with a few workable corners. Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the standout combo breaks pulling a few chest-high plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides...at 8:58 this morning it drops to a 0.1 low which will have many spots desperate for water throughout mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.6 high at 4:22 this afternoon.
If you must get wet, then you'll want to wear a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature climbing back up a bit and averaging between 58 and 61 degrees. Good luck out there!
