Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, if you're a grom, then get out there. Yep, it's back to pretty small mode in this neck of the woods.
The conditions are starting off mostly clean and glassy, with a combination of some minimal leftover west-northwest swell and a touch of lingering southerly energy. That recipe is providing some fast sectiony lines that should improve a bit once the tide fills-in later this morning.
Most Newport Beach spots are seeing knee- to waist-high waves, with the focal points pulling the occasional plus set if you're lucky.

At 5:19 this morning the tide dropped to a 1.5 low which will have many spots lacking water early on. The tide then pushes up to a 3.9 high at 11:03 later this morning and then drops once again to a 1.0 low at 5:14 this evening.
If you're planning on paddling, break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
