Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's looking like a good day to get in to work on time. Yep, there's still not much in the way of waves and we're seeing some less than favorable conditions.
Most spots are already seeing some texture or bump on the water. We've got a mixture of some minor west northwest and west southwest windswells and some tiny south southwesterly energy.
That recipe is offering some crumbly and textured sectiony lines, with maybe a few decent ones, with the small wave gear. Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to thigh-high, with the standout breaks pulling a couple waist-high waves.

At 10:41 later this morning the tide drops to a 0.2 low which will have many spots pretty drained out mid to late morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.1 high at 5:48 this evening.
If you're going to get wet before this latest storm, throw on at least the 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. Good luck out there!!
