A couple of big plays at the end of each half help keep Corona del Mar unbeaten.

Corona del Mar has won consecutive Southern Section Southern Division IX championships, and the Sea Kings did nothing to tarnish their program on Friday by beating a Pac-5 team in rebuilding mode. CdM made a big play when it mattered to preserve its 13th consecutive victory heading into its showdown against Newport Harbor

Key Stats: Luke Napolitano completed 16 of 25 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed eight times for 44 and a touchdown, the latter in the third quarter to give Corona del Mar a 24-14 lead.

Pivotal Moment: After calling two timeouts, Brett Greenlee blocked Aaron Ball’s 30-yard field goal attempt as time ran out, preserving CdM’s victory. A successful kick would have sent the game to overtime.
