Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, it looks like we're seeing a good amount of action in the water. So, if you have some time to kill, then get out there and enjoy!!
The conditions are fairly clean from the start, with some spots seeing some texture on the water. Checking the waves, we've got a good dose of south swell and some modest holding west northwest windswell out there.
That recipe is providing some racy, drained out broken-up lines, with some good bowly shoulders to snag. Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing stomach-to head-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling overhead plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides, at 5:39 a.m it drained out to a negative 1.4 low which will have many spots in need of water early on. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.9 high at 12:14 p.m and then drops once again to a 2.1 low at 4:52 p.m.
If you're planning on paddling, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe even the booties, with the water temperature taking another dip and averaging between 55 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI, County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean after a rain for at least 72 hours due to the possibility of increased bacteria levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
