CDM's 14U Girls Water Polo Wins Gold SPA Championship

Several key plays contributed to the win.

The CDM Aquatics 14U Girls Water Polo team won the championship game in the gold level of the 50th Annual Southern Pacific Age Group Tournament this past Sunday.

Led by three goals each from Kelly Morgan, Lauren Castleton and Maddie Musselman and outstanding goaltending from Heidi Ritner, including a 5-meter penalty shot save, CDM defeated the Irvine Kahuna WPC by a score of 9-4.

In Sunday's earlier game, CDM defeated SoCal "B", 11-3, to reach the finals.  In bracket play on Saturday CDM defeated eventual 3rd place finisher Los Alamitos, 13-8, and OCWPC, 17-2. Other players making significant offensive and defensive contributions throughout the weekend were: Katalina Aviles, Brooke Banta, Isabelle Braun, Devon Cooper, Delaney Gendron, Caitlin Harvey, Parker Hoffman, Leora Kalili, Sarah Lawson, Elizabeth McKenzie, Carina Mulligan and Emily Ritner.
