Newport Student Makes Biola Dean's List

Kaitlin Patton met the requirements for the honor during the spring semester.

Newport Beach resident Kaitlin Patton was one of 1,306 students recently named to Biola University's Dean's List for the spring term.

A student at the Christian university in La Mirada makes the Dean's List if he or she has a grade point average of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credit units and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2. Last spring, a third of Biola students achieved that goal, according to the university.

"Our Dean's List students are bright, motivated, engaged, competent and personable," said Patricia Pike, vice provost for undergraduate education. "They are already demonstrating the characteristics of success that results from applied intelligence and that will support future endeavors in society, community, career, and family life."
