Newport Beach Ranked Among America's Priciest ZIP Codes

Newport Beach, Newport Coast and Corona del Mar rank among the top 100 areas in Forbes' annual rankings of the most expensive ZIP codes in the country.

Newport Coast, Newport Beach and Corona del Mar were ranked among the priciest ZIP codes listed in Forbes' annual list of America's most expensive ZIP codes, released last week.

Newport Coast ranked highest on the list at No. 18, followed by Newport Beach's 92661 at No. 25, Newport Beach's 92662 at No. 28., Corona del Mar at No. 52., Newport Beach's 92660 at No. 123 and Newport Beach's 92663 at No. 134.

Forbes teamed up with Altos Research and analyzed prices in more than 22,000 ZIP codes across the country over a 90-day period and looked at the median asking price for single-family homes and condominiums. The analysis was limited to ZIPs where 10 or more residences were on the market.

According to the magazine's analysis, the median home price during the survey period in Newport Coast was $3,671,799. A home, on average, remains on the market in this area of the city for 141 days, and at the time of the survey, there were 104 properties listed.

In Newport's 92661 ZIP code, the median home price was $3,402,003. On average a home remained on the market for 163 days. In Newport Beach's 92662 neighborhood, the median home price was $3,241,885. On average a home remained on the market for 89 days.

Over in Corona del Mar, the median home price during the survey was $2,493,681. A home, on average, remains on the market in the village for 96 days.
