Yoga Studio Joins Fight Against Domestic Violence

Learn yoga practices at Jabulani Yoga Studio in Corona del Mar Wednesday while raising money for families impacted by domestic violence.

A yoga studio in Corona del Mar has joined forces with a local non-profit to help raise awareness about domestic violence.

On Wednesday at 5 p.m., Jabulani Yoga Studio will be hosting a "Vino and Vinyasa" fundraiser to build awareness for Laura’s House, a non-profit organization that provides a shelter and services for battered women and their children, and inform the community about the prevalence of domestic violence in Orange County.

The fundraiser is being held as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Jabulani will also be donating 20 percent of the proceeds from their workshop enrollments to Laura's House this month. Throughout the year they will also donate 20 percent of their studio fees from clients that designate Laura's House as their preferred charity.

“For us, every donation counts, and by hosting special events like the stand-up paddleboard workshop, and ‘Vino and Vinyasa,’ Jabulani Yoga Studio is helping us to build greater awareness, and raise much-needed funds that will support us in sustaining the programs and services that we provide to individuals and families who are impacted by domestic violence,” Margaret Bayston, CEO and executive director of Laura's House, said.

At the fundraiser, attendees will enjoy fine wine, sample gourmet chocolate, learn yoga practices along with learning about Laura's House efforts against domestic violence. Anyone interested in participating in yoga at the event should bring appropriate attire.

Jabulani is located at 2711 East Coast Highway in Corona del Mar. To RSVP for the fundraiser contact Andrea McCallister at 949 361-3775, ext. 211 or amccallister@laurashouse.org. For more information about Jabulani Yoga Studio, visit www.jabulaniyoga.com.
