Sculpture Exhibition Set for Newport Civic Center

Application deadline is Friday, Feb. 28.

Entries are now being accepted for Newport Beach's first invitational Sculpture Exhibition, which will feature several sculptures at the Civic Center Park.

The exhibition will consist of up to 10 sculptures located throughout the Newport Beach Civic Center Park. The artworks will remain on display for about  two years with installation planned for summer 2014 and de-installation planned for summer 2016, city officials said in a news release.

Professional artists, artist teams, private collectors, galleries and museums/non-profit organizations are encourage to submit entries. Applicants must be over the age of 18.  Entries will be reviewed by a selection committee which includes representatives of the city’s Arts Commission, local arts professionals and a local art conservator. The committee’s recommendations must be approved by the Arts Commission and the Newport Beach City Council.
