Rabid Bat Found in Orange County
Orange County health officials are asking anyone who may have encountered the bat at Fullerton College to contact them.
A rabid bat was found near a music building at Fullerton College, the Orange County Health Care Agency reported today.
The bat was found Tuesday on the campus at 321 E. Chapman Ave., according to the HCA.
Anyone who had any contact with a bat on the campus was asked to call the agency's epidemiology department at (714) 834-8180 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, or (714) 834-7792 after hours.

Once someone shows signs or symptoms of rabies, the disease is almost always fatal, so treatment is encouraged as quickly as possible.
