O.C. Revokes Executive Pay Raises

Top county bureaucrats are demoted and stripped of perks in the wake of a scathing audit.

Orange County supervisors added a lump of coal to the holiday stockings of several bigwig bureaucrats Tuesday, revoking various promotions, perks and pay hikes.

According to reports in the Orange County Register and VoiceOfOC.org, supervisors voted 3-2 to rescind a series of sketchy job promotions uncovered during a of county spending.

Notably, the supervisors agreed to:

  • Demote Assistant Orange County CEO Rob Richardson and strip his 401(a) benefit and car allowance. (Supervisors said county regulations prevented them from rescinding Richardson's controversial 33 percent pay hike.)
  • Reduce Deputy CEO for Infrastructure Alisa Drakodaidis' salary by 13 percent, to $180,752 a year.

The motion was introduced by Supervisor Shawn Nelson.
