NASA Answers 10 FAQs About Whether The End of The World Is Coming Friday

Dana Point and Laguna Niguel residents, there is a place to seek solace from the Doomsday hype. NASA has dedicated a portion of its web site to “frequently asked questions” regarding the end of the world.

It's only a matter of hours now before Doomsday a.k.a., Dec. 21, or the end of the world comes to fruition -- maybe.

If you believe the Internet reports, it's all coming to an end, but NASA has a different response, or 10 for that matter.

The space agency has been overwhelmed by calls asking such questions as: "Is the world ending Dec. 21?" And "Is NASA predicting a complete blackout on Dec. 21?" for months.

In the past few weeks, it says its resources have been tapped so much, it decided to dedicate a portion of its web site to "frequently asked questions
regarding the end of the world.

Here's the first one to get you started straight from NASA scientists:

Question: Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012

Answer:The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.
