Former Newport Councilman in Running for Clerk- Recorder's Post

Steve Rosanksy, who served on the Newport Beach City Council, is among 900 applicants who expressed interest in the clerk-recorder's position.

Orange County supervisors narrowed down their list of candidates for clerk-recorder Tuesday, with former Supervisor and Assemblyman Chris Norby and ex-city council leaders from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Anaheim among those making the cut.

The position is being filled on an interim basis by Renee Ramirez since the resignation of Tom Daly, who was elected to the Assembly. Ramirez is also on the list of 25 reviewed today. Each supervisor will pare down their list so the board has about a dozen hopefuls to interview in an all-day public meeting.

Among the more notable applicants are former Newport Beach City Councilman Steve Rosansky, former state Sen. Dick Ackerman, ex-Anaheim City Councilman Harry Sidhu and ex-Costa Mesa City Councilwoman Linda Dixon.
