Photos: Holiday Road Eucalyptus Trees Get Axed

Crew are chopping down 18 blue gum eucalyptus trees this week in Newport Beach.

Today is the second day of the blue gum eucalyptus tree removal process on Holiday Road. Crews began chopping down trees on Tuesday. By the end of the week, the 18 eucalyptus trees will be removed.

Earlier this month, the Newport Beach City Council unanimously the trees, after hearing the results of an inspection that deemed the trees to be a threat to public safety.
