Dennis Rodman's Ex-Wife Granted Restraining Order

The temporary restraining order prohibits the former Newport Beach resident from contacting his ex-wife and their two children.

An Orange County Superior Court commissioner granted a temporary restraining order this week prohibiting Basketball Hall of Fame member from contact with his ex-wife and their two children.

Rodman's ex-wife, Michelle, requested the temporary restraining order Wednesday and it was granted by Commissioner Renee Wilson, according to Michelle Rodman's attorney Mary Ann Noiroux.

Noiroux declined to offer details on what triggered the request because
Wilson has given Dennis Rodman's attorney time to file a motion to have the
court records sealed. Dennis Rodman is not allowed to come within 100 yards of Michelle Rodman, their two children and an adult daughter of Michelle Rodman's from another relationship, Noiroux said. The restraining order will be in place until a June 21 hearing.

"This case is not going away,'' Noiroux said. "Mr. Rodman is his own worst enemy. Everyone should be thinking here and not getting carried away. They need to think about the kids being caught in the crossfire here. She's got to take care of those kids and not have any disruptions and when he's around
it's chaos.''

Dennis Rodman's attorney, Linnea N. Willis, said the restraining order was granted on the basis of a "one-sided story.''

"Anyone can walk into court, make statements and get a temporary restraining order,'' Willis said. "As with any TRO, Mr. Rodman will have the ability in the future to review Ms. Rodman's request for the TRO and present evidence and testimony to contest it, so that it is not a permanent order. Hopefully Mr. Rodman and his ex-wife can resolve these child support and other issues down the road for the benefit of their children, focus on being good parents to the kids, focus on what is best for the kids, and everyone can move on with their lives.''

The granting of the temporary restraining order comes one day after another commissioner overseeing a dispute over child and spousal support ordered Dennis Rodman . He appeared in
court with his ex-wife Tuesday for a contempt of court hearing because he had
fallen behind in child and spousal support payments.

Attorney Jack Kayajanian, who also represents Michelle Rodman, has said
Dennis Rodman owes at least $750,000 an amount Willis disputes.
