City Council to Discuss Updates to Municipal Code

The Newport Beach City Council will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The City Council will consider approving an ordinance on Tuesday that will help update the Newport Beach Municipal Code, city official reported.

Mayor Keith Curry says the municipal code is in need of updating so that redundancies and outdated rules can be eliminated.

"Good governance is not only making laws, but asking what laws have outlived their usefulness and repealing them," Curry said in a released statement. “I am hopeful the review of our municipal code for outdated and unnecessary regulations become a regular occurrence.”
