Christmas Donations Needed for Military Families

Operation Christmas donations will be accepted through Dec. 23.

If you've ever wanted to give back to the military community for defending the nation's freedom, now is your chance.

The city of Newport Beach - in conjunction with Yellow Ribbon America - is currently accepting donations for Operation Christmas for Our Troops and Their Families to benefit the Orange County military community. This year the city is asking for new and unwrapped children's toys, new or used DVDs, gift cards and cash donations. Donations can be made at the City Clerk's office in City Hall until noon on Dec. 23.

"Our mission is to help and give back to America's heroes and their families," said Brad White, national chairman of Yellow Ribbon America. "Military families are in every community—Orange County alone has over 10,000 military personal—and this is a great way to help them and their families."
