Back Bay Drive to be Closed to Cars

The road will be closed Monday through Thursday while a contractor works on a pump station.

Back Bay Drive will be closed to vehicles between San Joaquin Hills Road and Eastbluff Drive starting Monday morning while a contractor works on a wastewater pump, according to the city.

Pedestrians and bicyclists will not be effected by the closure of the road, which is scheduled to reopen Thursday at 4:30 p.m, according to the city.

The city-owned wastewater pump station is located on Back Bay Drive about a mile north of San Joaquin Hills Road. The contractor will replace electrical equipment and install a back up generator, among other work, to improve the pump station's performance and reliability, according to the city.
