Pickup Plows Into Parked Cars, Driver Pulled Out Through Sunroof

A woman hits four cars on East Balboa Boulevard, causing her truck to land on its side. Three men come to the rescue.

A woman in a Chevy pickup smashed into four parked cars Tuesday and then was pulled out of the sideways truck through the sunroof, a witness reported.

Newport Beach police responded to the crash around 9:15 a.m. at 128 E. Balboa Blvd., according to police spokeswoman Kathy Lowe.

The 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche struck four parked vehicles on East Balboa before landing on its side, Lowe told Patch.

Witness Brett Faggioni said he helped two other men pull the the woman out of the truck through the sunroof. The woman was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Lowe said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
