Wells Fargo Bank in Newport Beach Robbed

The suspect reportedly entered and left quickly, then returned 10 minutes later to rob the bank.

A Wells Fargo Bank in Newport Beach was robbed today, police said.

Newport Beach police received the call at 11:36 a.m. from the Wells Fargo at 3600 East Coast Highway, according to a press release from the Newport Beach Police Department. .

The suspect -- described as between 6'2" and 6'4", weighing 150 pounds, clean-shaven, with short brown hair and no visible tattoos -- entered the bank about 10 minutes earlier and left after one minute later, officials said.

He re-entered the bank at approximately 11:35 a.m. and approached a teller window where he passed the teller a note, demanding money, the press release says. After receiving cash, the suspect left the location and fled north on Orchid Avenue on foot. 

There were no weapons seen or threatened during the incident.
