VIDEO: Newport Beach Fire Forces Evacuations of Apartment Complex, Dealership
The non-injury blaze started at about 4:30 p.m.
A Newport Beach brush fire broke out late this afternoon and forced evacuations at an apartment complex and high-end car dealership before being contained.
The non-injury blaze, which started about 4:30 p.m. at Jamboree Road and Route 73, led to an evacuation order at the Baypointe apartment complex, and employees and customers voluntarily left the nearby Fletcher Jones Mercedes- Benz dealership, according to Jennifer Manzella of the Newport Beach Fire Department.
The blaze scored two to five acres before being contained around 6 p.m., Manzella said. No structures were damaged.
