Four Injured in Newport Coast Crash

Four people were injured Sunday night when two cars crashed in Newport Coast, a fire official reported.

The crash was reported about 7:47 p.m. at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Reef Point Drive. Newport Beach fire Capt. Brett Sutherland said both cars were heavily damaged, but all occupants were out of the car and off the highway when first responders arrived.

Three people were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. 

Sutherland said Newport Beach police were investigating the cause of the accident.
