Burglars Hit 2 Newport Beach Homes

Victims say electronic gear, cameras, a guitar and jewelry were taken.

Two homes were burglarized in Newport Beach last week, police reported.

The first occurred last week between Wednesday and Thursday morning in the 2900 block of Carob Street. Police said an unknown suspect removed a screen from the bathroom window to enter the home. The victim reported missing a camera and jewelry.

The second break-in took place Friday between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Santiago Drive. Police said the thief got in by defeating the deadbolt lock on a door. A guitar, watches, iPads, a camera and camera equipment were stolen.
