SUV Crashes into Starbucks in Newport Beach

The driver has been arrested.

A vehicle crashed into a Starbucks in Newport Beach tonight and the driver was taken into custody.

The accident occurred on the 4600 block of Campus Drive around 9:30 p.m., Newport Beach Police Department Sgt. Corey Wolik said.

Wolik said he had no information as to injuries to patrons inside the coffee bar, or to occupants of the vehicle.

KCAL9 reported that Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested the driver after he attempted to flee the scene on foot.

A child in the vehicle was recovered by deputies, according to KCAL.
