Suspected Motorcycle Thief Leads Police on a Chase that Ends at John Wayne

Officers from Santa Anna, Orange and Irvine police departments pursued the suspect.

A 29-year-old man suspected of stealing a motorcycle was arrested at John Wayne Airport tonight after a 15-minute vehicle chase, police said.

The chase began in Santa Ana at around 7:55 p.m. after someone reported that the suspect was riding a stolen motorcycle in the city, according to Santa Ana police Cmdr. Eric Paulson.

Officers from the Orange and Irvine Police Departments located and chased the suspect, first on surface streets, and later on the Garden Grove (22), Costa Mesa (55) and San Diego (405) freeways, into a parking structure at the airport, where he was taken into custody and turned over to Santa Ana police, according to Paulson.
