String of Car Thefts on Kings Road

Cars on 15th Street, St. James Road and Holmwood in Newport Beach were also targeted by thieves.

Numerous cars in Newport Beach were recently targeted by burglars, police reported.

The incidents occurred between Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Tuesday, Feb. 26. Police say before you walk away from your car, take valuables out or hide them from plain sight. Remembers car doors should be locked at all times, as well as windows and sunroofs.

  • A nylon bag containing personal items were stolen from an unlocked car parked on 15th Street.
  • Keys, tools, a radio scanner and a bag were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 1400 block of Kings Road.
  • A suspect went into an unlocked car parked in the 1400 block of Kings Road.
  • A supect smashed a window of a car parked in the 1200 block of Kings Road and stole a purse.
  • A purse, jewelry, make-up bag and DVD's were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 400 block of Kings Road.
  • Ray Ban sunglasses and a vehicle registration were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 300 block of Kings Road.
  • A vehicle registration and change were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 300 block of Kings Road.
  • Sunglasses and a vehicle registration were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 200 block of Kings Road.
  • Twelve DVD's were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 700 block of St. James Road.
  • Money and a pair of Gucci sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 400 block of Holmwood.
