Sewage Spill Closes Parts of Huntington Harbour

Parts of Huntington Harbour were closed to swimmers and divers today because of an 800-gallon sewage spill on New Year's Day, officials said.

The closures were issued for the south and west portions of the community from Wayfare Lane to Warner Avenue, which includes the Humboldt and Davenport beaches, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Health officials said the sewage spilled into the channel from a storm drain on Heil Avenue and Algonquin Street.
