Seats Available in Newport Beach Citizens' Police Academy

The 12-week course begins on Jan. 26.

The Newport Beach Police Department is still accepting applications for the citizens' police academy. The free class starts Jan. 26 and was created to increase understanding of Police Department operations. Students will get an inside glimpse into routine police operations, including traffic stops and patrol ride-alongs.

Classes meet Thursdays, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Newport Beach Police Department. Students must be at least 21, live or work in Newport Beach and have no felony convictions, outstanding warrants or pending ciminal cases. For more information or for an application, click here.
